Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Price Theory (“we”, “us”) collects when you use www.price-theory.com, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

• Account information — name, email address and authentication details, handled by our authentication provider Clerk.
• Billing information — subscription status, plan and payment history. Card numbers are collected and stored by Stripe; we never see or store them.
• Agreement records — the version of our terms you accepted, the time you accepted, and the IP address and browser user-agent at that moment, kept as evidence of consent.
• Usage information — pages viewed, features used, and technical data such as browser type and approximate location derived from IP address.
• Content you submit — watchlists, portfolio entries, messages and anything else you enter into the Service.

We do not collect brokerage credentials, and we do not ask for or store your account numbers or trading account balances.

• To provide the Service, authenticate you and deliver the features on your plan.
• To process subscriptions, renewals and refunds.
• To send service messages such as alerts, receipts and important account notices.
• To keep a record that you accepted our terms and which version you accepted.
• To improve reliability and performance, and to diagnose problems.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), on the basis of our legitimate interests (security, product improvement, preventing abuse), to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where consent is required — for example marketing email, which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who make the product work, and only as needed:

• Clerk — authentication and user records.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers — to serve the site.
• Market-data and analytics vendors — to deliver the data shown in the product.
• Email delivery providers — to send service and notification email.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets — in which case we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

We use cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to run the Service — chiefly to keep you signed in and to remember your interface preferences. We also use limited analytics to understand which features are used, so we can prioritise work on them.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the Service will not function correctly without the ones required for authentication.

We keep account information for as long as your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Records of terms acceptance and billing history are retained for the period required to defend or resolve claims. You can ask us to delete your account and we will do so, except where we are required to keep specific records.

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls and third-party providers who maintain their own security programmes. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials private.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a portable copy, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of marketing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and to delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We operate in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and elsewhere. If you access the Service from another country, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

We may update this policy. When we make a material change we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, ask you to review it in the application.
